Tidak seperti domain hosting yang mewajibkan anda membayar ‘sewa’ pertahun, weblog dapat diperoleh secara gratis. Istilah paling tepat di Indonesia adalah berdagang ‘kakilima’, hanya saja di bisnis online tidak ada retribusi yang merepotkan ataupun berurusan dengan preman-preman. Blogger menyediakan blog (wadah) secara gratis tanpa retribusi dan preman asalkan anda mematuhi aturan yang berlaku (lihat Link untuk registrasi di Blogger). Berikutnya adalah ‘dagangan’ anda. Anda tentu membutuhkan ‘dagangan untuk dipajang di toko’ anda bukan?. Anda dapat memperoleh ‘dagangan’ anda di beberapa tempat seperti Clickbanks, Commission Junction atau Google Adsense bila anda belum memiliki produk digital untuk dijual. Untuk itu anda menjadi marketing afiliasi yang di dalam bahasa Indonesia sehari-hari kita kenal dengan ‘calo’. Setelah anda melakukan registrasi di salah satu link diatas, anda dapat melihat-lihat produk apa yang mereka tawarkan. Pilih salah satu produk yang anda senangi untuk anda promosikan di dalam blog anda. Link diatas akan menerbitkan satu hoplink untuk satu produk atas nama anda. Hoplink inilah yang perlu anda posisikan didalam blog anda. Pengunjung blog anda akan diteruskan ke website atau blog yang menjual produk tersebut. Bila pengunjung yang anda kirimkan ke website atau blog tersebut memutuskan untuk membeli produk dari website atau blog tersebut maka website atau blog tersebut akan membayar komisi anda. Hoplink yang anda letakkan di blog anda akan menjadi semacam pengenal tentang siapa atau blog mana yang mempromosikannya. Sekedar Tip mengenai marketing afiliasi, jangan menaruh terlalu banyak produk didalam blog anda. Anda perlu mengingat bahwa anda adalah ‘pedagang kakilima’. Blogger tidak menyukai blog yang memiliki terlalu banyak advertising atau iklan di dalam satu blog. Anda juga dapat menyisipkan Adsense ke dalam blog anda dimana Adsense adalah iklan Paid Per Click yang disediakan oleh Google. Seperti yang lainnya anda perlu me-registrasi nama anda ke Google Adsense. Dengan menempatkan Adsense di dalam blog anda maka Google akan membayar anda untuk setiap klik yang dilakukan visitor atau pengunjung blog anda ke Adsense yang anda tampilkan di dalam blog anda. Jadi anda telah memiliki produk didalam blog anda.
Langkah berikut yang perlu diperhatikan adalah mempromosikan blog anda agar pengunjung datang ke blog anda dan melihat-lihat apa didalamnya atau mungkin ‘membeli’ sesuatu dari blog anda. Anda dapat mempromosikannya melalui email dengan mengirimkan link blog anda kepada teman-teman anda akan tetapi pengunjung anda akan sangat terbatas sekali. Jalan yang paling banyak diambil orang yang sukses di bidang ini adalah melalui SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Anda perlu memberikan content dengan menulis artikel untuk di-post-kan ke blog anda, menentukan ‘keyword’ yang baik bagi blog anda agar Search Engine seperti Yahoo, Google, MSN, AOL dan lain sebagainya dapat menampilkan blog anda saat pengunjung mengetikkan keyword kedalam mesin pencari mereka. Disinilah perang yang sesungguhnya karena miliar-an ‘toko’ online di internet berusaha mendapatkan tempat di halaman pertama mesin pencari (Search Engine) saat pengunjung/visitor mengetikan keinginan mereka. Terdengar sulit? Memang sulit sekali untuk mendapatkan ranking disini apalagi dalam waktu singkat. Akan tetapi bukan berarti tidak ada jalan. Anda dapat memanfaatkan ‘Google Adwords’. Hanya saja anda perlu merogoh kantong anda karena Google Adwords adalah Paid Per Click iklan yang disediakan Google kebalikan dari Adsense. Google akan menaruh blog anda di halaman pertama mesin pencarinya secara acak agar pencari informasi dapat segera melihat blog anda. Apabila visitor tersebut merasa tertarik dengan blog anda di halaman mesin pencari tersebut maka Google akan meneruskan si pencari informasi tersebut diarahkan ke blog anda. Untuk itu anda harus membayar setiap klik yang menarik visitor ke blog anda terlepas dari apakah visitor tersebut membeli sesuatu dari blog anda atau tidak.
Cara lain untuk mendapatkan visitor adalah dengan memanfaatkan situs-situs PTC dan PTR dimana setiap dollar yang kita hasilkan di situs tersebut dapat kita tukarkan dengan menampilkan banner blog anda di situs tersebut dan menjadi semacam Banner Ad prabayar. Ini adalah cara yang lebih murah dibandingkan Google Adword.

Bisakah memulai online bisnis secara paruh waktu (part-time) ?
Sangat bisa. Tergantung dari kesediaan anda untuk meluangkan waktu bagi bisnis online anda. Anda dapat meluangkan waktu misalkan 2 jam seminggu untuk membangun bisnis online anda atau bila anda merasa kurang anda dapat menambahkan beberapa jam lagi bagi bisnis anda. Semua tergantung kepada anda sendiri karena bisnis online ini adalah milik anda sendiri. Jadi keberhasilan bisnis online anda ini adalah tergantung dari ketekunan, kesabaran dan kerja keras anda.

Anda dapat memulai dan bekerja kapan saja tanpa dibatasi waktu karena bisnis online anda tetap bekerja 24 jam sehari 7 hari seminggu meskipun disaat anda sedang tidur.

But the key factor is; you’ve got to work. Regardless of how little time you have at your computer, you can make it pay off if you just stay focused. e. Once my business is setup it basically runs on autopilot. That does not mean I do not need to work on it. It means I do not have to spend eight hours every day working on it. One or two hours should be sufficient.
f. It allows me to have my own business with unlimited earning potential. Whatever I put in I can get out. The sky is the limit and I am not working to make my boss or company rich.
Fact of the matter is that it is becoming more and more difficult to ignore the massive ecommerce potential of the Internet.
